For starters, the basics...
My name is Molly Miles. I was born October 31, 1983. I grew up in Groton, New York which is a boring little hick town that I loathe.
I'm going to college at the Rochester Institute of Technology.
I'm a senior in New Media: Information Technology, and no, I can't describe my major.
I love music immensely. It's the one thing I can always fall back on. I'm a lyric whore. I can't listen to mindless pop music unless I'm in the mood for it. There's something about well written lyrics on top of well composed instrumental arrangements that just does it for me. I mainly listen to indie/ progressive rock with a kick of alternative thrown in with the occasional movie score or techno/ pop.
Some of my many favorite bands or musicians are: Sarah Slean, Radiohead, Carissa's Wierd, Tegan & Sara, Sarah McLachlan, Guster, Damien Rice, Rufus Wainwright, Over the Rhine, Tori Amos, Carina Round, Frou Frou/ Imogen Heap, Bjork, The Dresden Dolls, Rachel's, Six Parts Seven, etc.
I also do quite a bit of writing of the poetry/ prose persuasion. I wouldn't consider myself a good writer, but I have my moments when I'm really proud of certain things I write. Writing is my form of catharsis from all of the shit that goes on around me whether it's good or bad. I would love to have something professionally published at some point. It's one of my "life" goals.
I'm a reader too (what a shock). I love The Lord of the Rings. It's one of those books I re-read every year. I usually read fantasy or horror. Some of my favorite books are House of Leaves, the Harry Potter Series, the Dark is Rising Sequence, a Song of Ice and Fire, etc. I read a lot of series. I love anything by Garth Nix. I have to say, as a stand alone book that I thought was amazing, House of Leaves is incredible. I don't think it's a book most people can process because of the complexities and oddities of it, but it contains some of the most profound reflections of life within a twisted realm of horror I've ever read. It's the kind of book I would classify as a "mindfuck," but I mean that in the best way possible.
Not to be confused with anything else or nothing, but, this is more than I bargained for
